1. From the cross uplifted high Where the Savior deigns to die What melodious sounds I hear Bursting on my ravished ear Love’s redeeming work is done Come and welcome, sinner, come 2. Sprinkled now with blood the throne Why beneath thy burdens groan On my pierced body laid Justice owns the ransom paid Bow the knee and kiss the Son Come and welcome, sinner, come 3. Spread for thee the festal board See with richest dainties stored To thy Father’s bosom pressed Yet again a child confessed Never from His house to roam Come and welcome, sinner, come 4. Soon the days of life shall end Lo, I come, your Savior, Friend Safe your spirit to convey To the realms of endless day Up to my eternal home. Come and welcome, sinner, come. Come and welcome, sinner, come

Though the Earth Cried out for blood Satisfied her hunger was Her billows calmed on raging seas for the souls on men she craved Sun and moon from balcony Turned their head in disbelief Their precious Love would taste the sting disfigured and disdained Chorus: On Friday a thief On Sunday a King Laid down in grief But awoke with keys Of Hell on that day The first born of the slain The Man Jesus Christ Laid death in his grave So three days in darkness slept The Morning Sun of righteousness But rose to shame the throes of death And over turn his rule Now daughters and the sons of men Would pay not their dues again The debt of blood they owed was rent When the day rolled a new He has cheated Hell and seated Us above the fall In desperate places He paid our wages One time once and for all Read more at http://www.songlyrics.com/john-mark-mcmillan/death-in-his-grave-lyrics/#DfSvFPj6JYTucGfa.99

1. Not what my hands have done can save my guilty soul; Not what my toiling flesh has borne can make my spirit whole. Not what I feel or do Can give me peace with God; Not all my prayers, And sighs and tears Can bear my awful load. 2. Thy work alone, O Christ, Can ease this weight of sin Thy blood alone O Lamb of God can give me peace within. Thy love to me O God, Not mine, O Lord, to Thee Can rid me of This dark unrest, And set my spirit free! 3. Thy grace alone, O God, To me can pardon speak; Thy power alone O Son of God can this sore bondage break. No other work, save Thine, No other blood will do, No strength save that, Which is divine, Can bear me safely through. 4. I bless the Christ of God; I rest on love divine; And with unfaltering lip and heart, I call this Savior mine. His cross dispels each doubt, I bury in His tomb My unbelief, And all my fear, Each lingering shade of gloom. 5. I praise the God of grace, I trust His truth and might He calls me His, I call Him mine, My God, my joy, my light ’Tis He Who saveth me, And freely pardon gives I love because He loveth me, I live because He lives!

1. O heart bereaved and lonely, Whose brightest dreams have fled Whose hopes like summer roses, Are withered crushed and dead Though link by link be broken, And tears unseen may fall Look up amid thy sorrow, To Him who knows it all 2. O cling to thy Redeemer, Thy Savior, Brother, Friend Believe and trust His promise, To keep you till the end O watch and wait with patience, And question all you will His arms of love and mercy, Are round about thee still 3. Look up, the clouds are breaking, The storm will soon be o'er And thou shall reach the haven, Where sorrows are no more Look up, be not discouraged; Trust on, whate'er befall Remember, O remember, Thy Savior knows it all

God is Good 03:05
You give good gifts to me I pray that I receive them well So pass the cup of suffering And let the oil of joy be poured I'll say God is good, God is good God is good, God is good We love Your purpose, Father We want the glory to be Yours So pass the cup of suffering And let the oil of joy be poured We'll say God is good, God is good God is good, God is good

1. For all the saints, who from their labors rest, Who Thee by faith before the world confessed, Thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blessed. Alleluia, Allelu... 2. Thou wast their rock, their fortress and their might; Thou, Lord, their captain in the well fought fight; Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light. Alleluia, Allelu... 3. O may Thy soldiers, faithful, true and bold, Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old, And win with them the victor’s crown of gold. Alleluia, Allelu... 4. The golden evening brightens in the west; Soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest; Sweet is the calm of paradise the blessed. Alleluia, Allelu... 5. But lo! There breaks a yet more glorious day; The saints triumphant rise in bright array; The King of glory passes on his way, Alleluia, Allelu... 6. From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast, Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host, Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia, Alleluia!

1. Laden with guilt and full of fears, I fly to Thee, my Lord, And not a glimpse of hope appears, But in Thy written Word The volumes of my Father’s grace Does all my griefs assuage Here I behold my Savior’s face In every page. 2. This is the field where, hidden, lies The pearl of price unknown That merchant is divinely wise Who makes the pearl his own Here consecrated water flows To quench my thirst of sin Here the fair tree of knowledge grows, No danger dwells within. 3. This is the judge that ends the strife, Where wit and reason fail My guide to everlasting life Through all this gloomy vale Oh may Thy counsels, mighty God, My roving feet command, Nor I forsake the happy road That leads to Thy right hand.
8.
1. Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but Thou art mighty; Hold me with Thy powerful hand. Bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore; Bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore. 2. Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield. Strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield. 3. When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside; Death of deaths, and hell’s destruction, Land me safe on Canaan’s side. Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee; Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee. Ending Land me safe on Canaan’s side Bid my anxious fears, bid my anxious fear Land me safe on Canaan’s side Bid my anxious fears, bid my anxious fears, goodbye

1. Abide with me; falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers, fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, abide with me. 2. Thou on my head, in early youth didst smile; And, though rebellious, and perverse meanwhile, Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee, On to the close Lord, abide with me. 3. I need Thy presence, every passing hour. What but Thy grace, can foil the tempter’s power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, abide with me. 4. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless Ills have no weight, tears lose their bitterness Where is thy sting death? Where grave thy victory? I triumph still, abide with me. 5. Hold Thou Thy cross, before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, Lord, abide with me.

Let no one caught in sin remain* Inside the lie of inward shame We fix our eyes upon the cross And run to him who showed great love And bled for us Freely you bled, for us Christ is risen from the dead Trampling over death by death Come awake, come awake! Come and rise up from the grave! Christ is risen from the dead We are one with him again Come awake, come awake! Come and rise up from the grave! Beneath the weight of all our sin You bow to none but heavens will No scheme of hell, no scoffer's crown No burden great can hold you down In strength you reign Forever let your church proclaim Oh death! Where is your sting? Oh hell! Where is your victory? Oh Church! Come stand in the light! Our God is not dead, he's alive! he's alive!

Jesus I am resting, resting In the Joy of what Thou art; I am finding out the greatness Of Thy loving heart. Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee, And Thy beauty fills my soul, For by Thy transforming power Thou hast made me whole. Chorus: Jesus, I am resting, resting In the joy of what Thou art; I am finding out the greatness Of Thy loving heart. O how great Thy loving kindness. Vaster, broader than the sea! O how marvellous Thy goodness, Lavished all on me! Yes, I rest in Thee, Beloved, Know Thy certainty of promise, And have made it mine. Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, I behold Thee as Thou art, And Thy love, so pure, so changeless, Satisfies my heart; Satisfies its deepest longings, Meets supplies its every need, Compasseth me round with blessings; Thine is love indeed! Ever lift Thy face upon me, As I work and wait for Thee; Resting 'neath Thy smile, Lord Jesus, Earth's dark shadows flee. Brightness of my Father's glory, Sunshine of my Father's face, Keep me ever trusting, resting; Fill me with Thy grace.

1. Praise to the Lord, The Almighty, the King of creation! O my soul, praise Him, For He is thy health and salvation! All ye who hear, Now to His temple draw near; Praise Him in glad adoration. 2. Praise to the Lord, Who over all things so wondrously reigneth, Shelters thee under His wings, Yea, so gently sustaineth! Hast thou not seen How all your longings have been Granted in what He ordaineth? 3. Praise to the Lord, Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee; Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee. Ponder anew What the Almighty can do, If with His love He befriend thee. 4. Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him! All that hath life and breath, Come now with praises before Him. Let the Amen Sound from His people again, Gladly for aye we adore Him.

Asia's Song 05:08

about

In the Spring of 2013, a group of friends, who also happened to lead worship for RUF at UNC, decided they wanted to record some of their favorite tunes to commemorate their years of playing worship together.

Since these are not our songs, we do not receive anything from the music, except the joy of making it. If you like what you hear, please consider visiting our website, or giving to the ministry of RUF at givetoruf.org.

credits

released February 22, 2016

The CrestNest sessions were recorded in the living room of Jess & Asia's house on Crest Drive, just three days before they and Bennett graduated from UNC.

... well most of the songs... the rest were recorded several months later in the basement of Jess's parents house in Asheville, NC just a few days before she moved to California where she now works for RUF Stanford. You can check out their music @ rufstanford.bandcamp.com.
